CETP 1 – Basic Principles & Practices

$225 – $365Basic Principles and Practices is a two-day course taught by a qualified instructor. Students will take a number of quizzes and tests in order to assess their pace of learning. The course includes displays of valves, fittings and other industry components as well as live demonstrations of the properties of propane. Students will take a 100-question multiple-choice test at the end of the class; these tests are graded by a third party and the results are mailed to each company. A minimum score of 75% must be attained to pass the test.

Who Should Attend?
Basic Principles and Practices is the introductory course for all employees, owners, managers and others who handle, store or transport propane in the State of Missouri. State law requires that industry personnel must attend and complete an approved, state-certified training program every three years. Basic Principles & Practices is the prerequisite for all other CETP courses. It covers the physical properties and combustion characteristics of propane; identifying propane industry standards; safety codes and regulations; identifying basic parts of tanks; cylinders, fittings and storage installations; maintaining a safe working environment; and more.
Additional Information
MO-PERC funding underwrites the cost of student and test materials as well as a copy of 2020 NFPA 58, pencils, markers and other materials. Lunch and break refreshments are provided. Other meals, lodging, and travel are not included.
This seminar is certified by St. Louis County for 8 Professional Education Units.
